Re: Simple Simon
Kalcidis, what's more incredible is I live in the far north of England where there's not really a large Carribean community and decent Ja music finds are rare. I picked up a handful of gems from the shop in question over the years. The guy had a number of the SS lp and a load of a Greogory Isaacs LP on Kingdom as well. I love 80s deejays , not sure if you've heard the lp but really it's nothing special, in fact from memory not one track stood out as making the LP worth keeping.

Re: Simple Simon
A real class act that eek a mouse has turned out to be.
He is a loud mouth jerk.
He single-handedly ruined what would have been a decent interview a friend of mine was about ready to do with Everton Blender.
eek a mouse, or make that eek a mouth, obviously drunk, kept interrupting the interview to the point it came to an end after about 20 minutes.
That was far from the end of the story. Let's just say EVERYONE was so sick of eek a mouse, he cleared the room.
On the opposite end of the spectrum, the classy Everton Blender apologized to my friend, despite having no connection with eek a mouse. Everton was clearly disgusted with eek a mouse too but he, and others in the room with class, just moved along.
it's as if eek a mouse is proud of his rudeness.
sometimes it's encounters like this that almost make you dislike a guy's music. classless, i tell ya.

Re: Simple Simon
Is it "The Creator"? When I first heard Simple Simon I wrote him off as a decent impersonator but I got my hands on the 7" of this tune a while back and it completely changed my opinion. Love it!kalcidis wrote:I have a 12" with Simple Simon where he sings quite nicely, not doing the Eek-thing at all.
