I bought this cd titled In The house of Vocal & Dub by Prince Far I & King Tubby, and I know this is a compilation but what albums are these songs from? Does any 1 know? I usually don't like to buy compilations unless they contain songs not found anywhere else, and this is the first i've heard of Prince Far I can someone recommend any material of his worth buying?

Re: Prince Far I & King Tubby ?
If you go to the Prince Far I site (link thru Roots Archive top of Prince Far I page)
you can listen to the CRY TUFF DUB ENCOUNTER CHAPTER 3 tracks.
listen and you will find the riddims on that album,
Prince Far I has just voiced them differently on IN THE HOUSE.....
PS GET EVERY TING YOU CAN OF THE PRINCE...ALL WICKED
Start with the Dub Encounter series all available on Frontline/Pressure Sounds then get Under Heavy Manners especially the Joe Gibbs issue (has bonus tracks)....see site

I especially recommend the 70's roots album "Free From Sin." Prince Far-I worked with the On-U-Sound lable in England in the 80's, recording some excellent tracks on the Singers & Players albums "Staggering Heights," "War of Words," and "Leaps and Bounds." I've heard he was killed in the mid-eighties in Jamaica. A great loss.
