blouse and skirt - revolutionaries

Post by Dustbin Lid »

Please Please, can someone (probably Bellyman!) tell me where I can get hold of some sort of recording of 'Dub out her blouse and skirt' By The Revolutionaries? I'm not very hopeful as even the artwork isn't available on Roots-archives, but this was THE dub album of the very late 70's as far as I'm concerned. My entire vinyl collection was 'lost' during a traumatic experience in the early eighties and I only have a few scraps of the track 'Craven Park Dub' left on cassette!
It's almost too much to hope that one of you guys can help me - but you've surprised me and me bruds before , so here's hoping!
RIDDIM SECTION..... MOVE FORWARD!!

Sorry to tell you but I think all Donovan Germain produced classics from the late 70s/early 80s are unavailable at thhe moment.
It really is time for the people of Blood and Fire Records or Pressure Sounds or any other specialist label to rerelease the whole catalogue of the 'Germain' or 'Revolutionary Sounds' labels. This would include IMO the 'Dub out her blouse & skirt' series from the Revolutionaries (indeed there were three albums !!!) , both Cultural Roots records, the accompanying 'Cultural Roots DUB' album by Revolutionaries and the wonderful record that Dean Fraser made for Germain.
All these records are so hard to find nowadays and everyone of them is brilliant and should be in every rootsloving home.

Praise the Bellyman!
Thank you very much indeed for taking the time and trouble to answer my question (even though it wasn't the answer I was hoping for).
I agree that these recordings should be in every 'rootsloving home', unfortunately I don't think my neighbours do even if you COULD get them!!
If I had my way, the artistry, musicianship and innovation of these dub masters would be compulsory lessons in every school!
Keep up the good work my friend.
FORWARD THE BASS!
Dustbin.

have a look on the reggae music store web site. there's an album on LP that lists this as one of the tracks, it's called "conquerors in dub" on sale for £9.99. it may not what your looking for, but they've got quite a few other records by the revolutionaries
