i remember listening to deejay an singer saying this especially rud boys or pertaining to gunmen business. calling themselves a "gun ark". was really used in the early 80's inna danceall style. deejays' use the term an even singers. i think it was also used on little john and billy boyo's bushmaster connection tune on greensleeves.
if anybody has any idea idea, lemme know. hit me wit some knowledge. this ones been buggin mi since the 80's, hopefully somebody got an answer.

They're saying "Gun Hawk". I think it takes its meaning from a Hawk being a bird of prey. Saying I'm a Gun Hawk is like saying I'll swoop down on you with a gun. Basically Gun Hawk is just a fancy way of saying Gunman. At least this was always my understanding of the term.
