Meaning of "easy squeeze makes no riot"

Post by =Nilo82= »

Hey guys,
in Alton Ellis' song "Play It Cool" I heard the line "easy squeeze makes no riot" which I don't understand.
The only result of my google research was, that it is a Jamaican proverb (big suprise ;) ).
Does anybody know what it means?
Bless, nilo

Squeeze 'em slowly and they won't notice. As the politician might say to the taxman.

Not surprisingly it's also the title of a Gladiators' song from the Studio One album "Presenting The Gladiators".

...it's also a great song by Sugar Minott.

I believe that "Ease Squeeze" has been left off recent represses of Presenting the Gladiators...although it's still listed in the tracks.
