This must be at least the 5th 'history of Trojan Records'. I'd like the unreleased/rare stuff but it's a shame you need to buy all the same old stuff all over again to get it.

It's only the first disc that's a retread, buy it with the thought that it's a 4CD box set as opposed to a 5 disc one, and you'll be happy with the content. Plus there is the bonus download album too. I was unsure when I ordered it, but now that I've got it I rate it pretty high on the 'new to me' scale. I own a good percentage of the Trojan re-issues from the Steve Barrow era through the current Universal era and I didn't have about 90 of the tracks on the set (and that's not even counting the download bonus tracks).

they keep putting the same things with few new ones on cd...yet i believe they got lots of obscure and unreleased stuff in their vaults they can put on cd.....

This one is loaded with unreleased stuff. Only one out of five discs is the same ol' same ol'. Loads of rare and unreleased tracks on this box set!
