Re: Ska authentic album confusion

This thread has prompted me to check the mis-credit for Scrap Iron on the Ska Authentic Vol.1 CD, and the situation has proved to be more complicated than I first thought...

It now transpires that track 11 on the Studio One CD is Royal Flush, and not Feeling Good after all! The confusion has arisen because there are two different versions of the SKA AUTHENTIC (PRESENTING THE ORIGINAL SKA-LITES FROM JAMAICA) album. On the original UK issue track B2 is Scrap Iron, B3 is Feeling Good, and B4 is Royal Flush. Whereas on the Jamaican issue B3 is Royal Flush and B4 is Feeling Good. (I have only just discovered this anomaly.)

I have also discovered that there are different versions of Ska In Vienna Woods on the two releases. The original features a vocal introduction and scat percussion (is that what you call it?) and the reissue doesn’t.

The relevant Downbeat Special web page has been updated to reflect this new information: http://www.downbeat-special.co.uk/skaauthentic2.html

I hope this helps clear up the confusion,

Rob
