EG if you sell on ebay regulary the same 300 -400 people worldwide order and are making bids. Which isnt allot. Another example this limited edition is still available.

I guess the people who are listening reggae is whole lot bigger compared to the people paying for it. And Trojan knows that.

Only when the chinese come and are getting inteterested in reggae music the reggaemarket could get a push.

Received mine today . Agree with zigggyyyy about the album .

With this release we have to remember that it is a Candy Mackenzie album with Perry producing and engineering it . So the focus is on her voice . BUT the Perry magic is very , very good indeed . With no disrespect to the vocals , a dub cut of this would be amazing , pure Congo`s style production here ! Crisp as you like , that Black Ark drum sound .. in no way muddy as in the Ras Michael and The Sons of Negus " Love Thy Neighbour " LP .

Yes , I try to be a Perry completist , funds permitting . I can`t afford the big prices some folks are willing to pay for those " got to have " tracks , so the money for this is money well spent .

Thanks to Trojan for getting this released . Who knows , Trojan might be able to get more Island/Perry stuff out in the big wide world , it`s about time the vaults were opened up again . (tu)

BUT .. as for the " Ice Cream " track ....well :( !!!!

@ congo bunny

Just that one , and that is due to the tacky lyrics , penned by Perry , according to the writer credits .

You have to understand what Trojan means when they say "limited edition."

Generally it means, "limited to the maximum number we can manufacture and sell between today and the day the sun explodes. I mean, when you think about it, the universe is finite, so isn't everything a limited edition?"

The " limited edition " that applies to this is a handwritten number box on the back of the album cover , mine being [405/500].

Also ... isn't there a whole lot of Chinese pop-music from the 60's (and even back to the 50's?) that use a back-beat? Of course unaware of what Jamaican music was doing the same time but still quite similar in style. A friend of mine once played some stuff for me that sounded like the long lost cousin of ska.

Yes Congo Bunny, If you not only going for the hardcore roots type of thing and love the clean and well mixed black ark sound of 76/77 this LP grows on you. And when you at this moment havnt got the money eventually you will be able to download it.
