Why would you recommend someone (non reggae fan) to listen to reggae?

It is something about reggae... I once had a conversation with someone that knew nothing about reggae but when he heard it live for the first time he felt something, almost unexplainable. One of those things you can't really palpate but feel from with in. Some people will feel it, others will ignore it, and others will block it completely.

Recommend the right reggae too. The world lately has decided to call reggae a whole lot of music that is certainly not, but merely influenced. Kids are saying they go to reggae shows and start mosh pits. Recommend roots and culture rub a dub music! Jah live.

word up about that dubstep nonsense. my younger and stupider friends always ask me if i like it cuz they know me as the reggae guy and i always tell them NO! IT SUCKS! just listen to dub reggae I tell them but they never do. I'm no snob but having a love of reggae(which most other people certainly do not) seriously makes me feel like i have more to offer or a finer appreciation for finer things. And I'll say this even really agreeing with what Rootsmanx said just a few posts above. We're in a minority here friends but in our case its a fine minority to be in. YES I!

Majority sometimes means all the fools on one side , in this case I am more than happy to be part of minority.

I would suggest it cause it's the only genre with a course, one record that comes to mind if I had to play for a non reggae fan is "Best things in Life are free" by Gladiators .Your r&b , rap etc. is all vanity.just a pity babylon control them and the system own them.

I play reggae music in the middle of the street because it was ordered by Mosiah Marcus Garvey. Why don't you trust me ...cho... JAH Bless Joseph Hill and the band called Culture.

yes Mystikal, I would.For the bass.
Yet in my experience, it is generally an utter waste of time.
Even my wife is disinterested and shows scorn for my interest in reggae.
