He is pretty unique in his style, then its hard to find another artist similar but for me Stranger Cole album "forward in the land of sunshine" is pretty close...

Both are great albums... The best tunes are slow and mysticals, killers!

Finally maybe that the first Burning Spear albums are a good reference for imagine I Kong style*

I wasn't familiar with Stranger Cole either.
Album cover and song titles look really good.
And he plays "VIOLIN"?! WOW!!!
Have to keep my eyes open for that one, although i'm sure it is tuff to find.

Does anyone know of an Augustus Pablo version of I Kong's 'The Way It Is'? I swear I had something along these lines taped probably from the B&B Show circa 1978.
