Freddy and I worked at the Jamaican Movement for the Advancement of Literacy (JAMAL Foundation) in the mid to late 1970s. He was an illustrator of the books and other reading material produced. He had this song Young Love he used to sing accompanied by his guitar. My cousin and I agreed to help him produce it and so one Saturday morning we went to Channel 1 studio and did the takes. I'm going to see if I can find my original copy of the 45.

Marcus1. Thanks for your post! Very interesting and that song is really brilliant. Limonious had a truly sweet voice. I think that you should try to get in contact with Chris from In Fine Style (http://infinestyle.wordpress.com/) who has researched a lot on Wilfred. He has even found a couple of copies of your Advancement of Literacy-publications. Perhaps you've already gotten in contact with him.

Hail Marcus!

I have been researching Freddy for the past 3 years and have been in contact with his family in the country many times. I maintain the following blog: http://infinestyle.wordpress.com/

That is really exciting to hear that you helped produce the Young Love song. I have a copy of the 45 myself!

I have heard that there is another 45 of a different song kicking around

If you message me (bateman.c.j@gmail.com), I would love to chat more about this!

Bless!
