Hi,
Im looking to get Gregory Isaac's compilation "Extra Classic" on CD, as im after the versions of his songs. But im getting conflicting information on the content. Amazon has two different CD listings; one for a reasonable amount, but does not make mention of the extra version tracks, and the other which sells for upwards of £100, but does list the additional tracks.
So here lies my confusion. Are there two actual issues of the compilation, one with the versions and the other without, or is it just one release.
Thanks

Re: Gregory Isaacs - Extra Classic > tracklists?
I MAY be wrong, but Trojan's "Extra Classic Plus" (this features the original tracks PLUS dubs of nearly every track) is the first issue of this LP on CD. That price is QUITE exorbitant, keep your eyes open - I picked up a CD copy 6 months ago for $14.00... and, need I tell you, it is WORTH EVERY PENNY!!
It IS out of print (criminally), so you can expect to pay a BIT more, but your patience will reward you in the end...

Thanks for the quick answer.
I agree that it's a corker! I don't do 7" anymore, and many of the versions are not available on CD elsewhere.
So what you are saying is there is only one CD release for this compilation, is that correct?

There are two versions: the expanded Trojan version (with dubs), but it came out earlier on CD with the same cover as the yellow cover version Micron LP release. I believe it was released by Ossie Hibbert, but I don't have it in front of me to check, it's at home.
If you have a choice, go for the Trojan version, the dubs are great.

I checked discogs and it also only mentions one CD release.

I have sourced a copy which displays the same cover as the Trojan release, but the tracklist only mentions the original songs without the versions. It's for a reasonable price, so im going for it, and hope for the best.
