While I was out the other day I took a flyer and bought the Cool Runnings CD release on Bristol Reggae Archives as for some reason the band name rang a bell from a gig that I attended many years ago which I remember as being pretty good.
This is the only reason that I paid any attention to this CD but I am so glad that I did as it is a really good release.
For those who have not heard of this band I recommend you have a listen to this CD as it certainly came as a pleasant surprise to me.

It's CD only. Right? Because I wanted to order it but since I don't have a CD player any more it just felt un worth to have to rip it in order to hear it. I'd love to see it released as vinyl.

I compiled the CD, I also compiled an 8 track vinyl version, but perhaps because they are relatively unknown there wasn't any real interest from distributors/retailers so we didn't go ahead with the vinyl as it's so expensive to press even 500 copies. Having said that now that the CD is out and selling there may be more of a demand for vinyl, if so and it's big enough you may still be in luck.kalcidis wrote:It's CD only. Right? Just noticed the thread title, it's actually Bristol Archive Records, not Bristol Reggae Archive, although we are starting a new label for non Bristol Reggae called Reggae Archive Records, we've got some nice releases in the pipeline.

"Wise And Foolish", "Earth" and "Live At counter Eurovision" perhaps on a 2 disc set with a few bonus tracks

Re: Cool Runnings (Bristol Reggae Archive)
Not Misty I'm afraid, although never rule anything out, the first release will be a CD from Birmingham band Eclipse, it will feature their album, plus at least 4 extra tracks, sleeve notes based on an interview with members of the band and original photos. There are other things we are working on, many unreleased, (I'm sure they will appeal to many of you), but I can't really say anything until all the paperwork is done and the deals finalised, with luck we should have at least two LPs and maybe a 12" out on the new label this year.
For those of you who are Misty fans, members of Misty play on our forthcoming Dan Ratchett album,"Jah Poor People", it also features members of Aswad, Sly Dunbar and Earl 'Chinna' Smith among others and was recorded in 1986. Our other forthcoming Reggae releases on Bristol Archive Records are the deluxe CD issue of Black Roots "All Day All Night" and Bunny Marrett's "I'm Free", ( I love this one), we then have a summer break and come back with a couple more albums before the end of the year.

I assume you refer to this album

This is an excellent set, "Visions" has been a long time favorite of mine. I cannot wait for the CD, it will be interesting to know what the bonus tracks will be.
@ Dubmart, when can we expect the release of this one?
