I thought you were the patwa ruler from here top yonder! ;) It's the same as when you say that it's biting wind or cold.

So, this has been bothering me for a while.

Are they saying "European Squall" in this lyric? Because if so, the association with "White squall" makes it a little bit awkward.

Big Tune...always loved this one,
This thread is like playing chinese whispers!!lol see where the translations end.

Funny reading all the explanations of the same words tho! i just don't like the one about the crap on your mouth!lol LMAO, i always thought that squall was a mess, or mess up, like to live in Squaller.

Just looked up the official definitions:

Squall = A storm in the ocean, somewhat like an underwater tornado, it usually consists of heavy currents, but it has no effect on the surface.

Squalid = Disgusting, revolting, dirty, foul.

Squaller = Extremely disgusting conditions. Usually related to living conditions.

I think the lyrics in the Blacknotes Africa Dub is a message to Europeans to taking back European Crap,+ influence, +mess (eg. through slavery, colonialism etc.)and give him back his African style+culture or course.

It seams plausible that the white around an undernourished person's mouth would be the reference for white squall. There is no official word "squaller" btw, it's just a misspelling of squalor.

Sorry my mistake!, i just read back on page 2 from a post that i myself made on this thread ages ago and it seems that i asked a JA friend of mine who is an author and they did confirm that it does mean what Titus said, so even though it does seem quite far out at first for it to mean the white mouth thing i think it is very likely to mean this, see my other post for the exact quote from my friend at the time.
Funny how u forget things you've written over time!lol
