Lloyd Brevett RIP

Post by Mick Sleeper »

The original bass man has passed away under sad circumstances. His mighty bass lines live on.

Heard the news on BBC radio on the way home - I'm glad at least that they devoted some time to play some snatches of the Skatalites and do him justice. Very sad end though.

I love this track, it always puts a smile on my face and the title says it all.

Sad news indeed. I was only saying to my brother 3 days ago how spooky it was that Bob Marley died on my birthday. And now we have Coxone Dodd and Lloyd Brevett passing away on his daughter's, (my neice) birthday as well! Alas, there are another eight May birthdays in my family. RIP Lloyd Brevett.

I'm glad I saw him live once, great player, true legend. Lives on.
