JUST listened to this whole set on Spotify, and honestly it feels a little disjointed - great stuff and great quality - but doesn't quite "flow"...
IMHO, of course...

Re: Dub will change your mind
When I first heard about King Spinna I was psyched. But seeing that the first release was a Bunny Lee/Agrovators dub LP I was a bit disappointed as it just seems there is no shortage of this stuff around.
I was on the fence about it but pulled the trigger mainly because I wanted to support the label in the hopes I'd be more psyched on release #2. But now having listened to it I can say it's a stellar dub LP, worth every penny! This ain't your granny's Agrovators dub album! Not every tune is really fresh but enough are for sure.
I do wish there were sleeve notes about the provenance of each tune. Do they only include those with CDs?

Also, I'm out of my depth here and going from memory, but are these really all Bunny Lee? Isn't Grogory Isaacs Slave Master a Niney production (Golden Rule Dub- I know it's a different vocal here but same riddim). And Dub Is Everything sounds an awful lot like a Joe Gibbs/ET production to my ears. But really, I don't have that much faith in my ears.

Re: Dub will change your mind
Who is the vocalist on "Golden Rule Dub"? The King Spinna blurb says it's from '75. Can't find a matching B. Lee cut from that time....sounds more like J. Clarke than C. Campbell to my ears, but I'm in the same boat as flashman as far as that goes!

After listening to samples of Dub Will Change Your Mind and the Dr. Buster Dynamite LPs, I'm more excited about the two Dynamite releases.

Re: Dub will change your mind
Someone please help jog my memory, what's the original version of the riddim used for Lifetime Dub? Actually it'd be nice to know the vocal version of this particular lick of the riddim as well as the original riddim name
Thanks!
Thanks!

Ok, I think I've got it.
The version on this lp is Ronnie Davis -That's Life.
The original is Delano Stewart- That's Life, a Sonia Pottinger production. Plus there's Big Youth's Facts of Life on the same riddim.
Anyone know any others on this great classic riddim?

Re: Dub will change your mind
Picked up the CD issue this week and I personally think it has a nice cohesive flow throughout. It certainly has no less cohesiveness than most of the dub albums that have been released throughout the years.
Only disappointment for me was that I was expecting to see a nice liner note booklet with a track by track run down like what has been supplied with previous B&F releases. But that’s me just being picky as the quality of the music certainly makes up for this.
BTW, what is the vocal version to track 5 “Idling Dub”?
Thanks
Dave
