Great album, as most here probably agree. I'd like to know if a version was ever pressed without the overdubs (violins etc.) that were added to the mix.
I thought the Jamaican press would be the raw version but, sadly, its the same as UK or US press, at least the copy I own is.
Anyone?
If it doesn't exist, I'd recommend to a label to get ahold of the Harry J masters and release the LP without overdubs, and add a DUB to the pack (even if mixed now). Call it: Heptones Night & Day food. But perhaps ISLAND owns the rights, and won't do anything with it.
I am familiar with the Auralux LP that came out a few years ago that included some leftover tracks from the session (without overdubs; Hence masters must exist).
