Marcus Garvey/Garvey's Ghost Remaster

Post by Geo Dude »

Can anyone tell me about the [remaster](http://www.amazon.com/Marcus-Garvey-Gar ... 227&sr=1-2) and how it compares to the [1990 release](http://www.amazon.com/Burning-Spear-Mar ... 227&sr=1-1)?

I'm on a budget but can probably swing the remaster if necessary.

If I were you, I would get the older one. (I'm pretty sure it was remastered again later than 1990?) I bought the more expensive Hip-o-select remastered version not that long ago and I can't say it sounded better to me. Unfortunately I couldn't compare it, as I was replacing my old copy that I lost, but I didn't notice any obvious improvements, although it might be a bit louder.

Thanks for the tips. I'll stick with the older release. I love me a $3 disc... :D

I played the a few tracks from both CDs back to back last night and the Hip-O-select version sounded much, much better.
The drums, for example, on "Black Wa-Da-Da" sounded incredible.

Thanks 6anbatte! Good to know that the extra cost was justified!
