Is it just me who finds Joe highs really depressing?

I like Higg's stuff cause it is mellow and has a lot of feeling. Wouldn't call it depressing, but it def has a sad mood to it. I think that is why I like it.
I've tried hard to like him, but I guess that sad mood just gets me down

Life of Contradiction was recently reissued by Pressure Sounds. It's an incredible album. Check it out.

Life of contradiction is indeed a great album. I actually just bought it after a few years of it staring me in the face. Not sure why I waited so long. This thread actually reminded me that I needed to get it.

Back to Marley

Just like many of you , Legend was my very fisrt Reggae album and I listened to it again this morning and I can say imo Bob is the King Of Reggae.

Mick Sleeper wrote:To me, Marley is almost like a genre unto himself. Once he signed with Island Records, he had the money and resources of a major label behind him and crafted some of best music ever recorded. Unlike most reggae artists in the 70s, Marley produced his own music and really took control of it. As a result, he's really removed from what most of us think about when it comes to 70s reggae - there are no King Tubby dub versions of Marley tracks, no Dillinger toasts over Marley rhythms, no one off LPs for Bunny Lee, etc. While I don't listen to Marley as much as other artists, every time I do I'm struck by the incredible craftsmanship that went into his music. It doesn't hit me the same way Lee Perry's Black Ark material or Yabby You's deep roots music does, but it certainly leaves an impression.
Yeah, I agree in everything you said!!! for sure!
