"Reggae In America"? I don't think anyone rates that very highly to begin with. Harmonies by the Heptones rescue two of the tracks, and it's an interesting nugget from a "singer" with way more balls than talent. Beyond that, it's rare for a reason.

True see you tube for examples:

Musical Youth played his small(commercial) part in the history of reggae.
Actually never seen that video before. It's fun seeing Sugar Minott, Rita & Ziggy Marley, Big Youth and others interact with the UK charttoppers. You gotta hand it to the Musical Youth, they were definitely commercial, but I doubt that reggae artists were shy about being commercial when it was possible. At least they opened up a bunch of young ears (like mine) to the sounds, which eventually blossomed into bigger and better things.

Well I've seen one too many sellers try to talk this LP up real big so I'd put it in the overrated catagory. If not for the Buffalo Dub track, I woulda traded it in for a slice of pizza.

Will second Dubaddikts feelings on Gideon Jah Rubbish ;-) ok not really rubbish but not worth much excitement to me.

I'm constantly baffled over the praise that Grounation gets. Aside from that ehhh hmmm lead singer [?], I'd call the group more of a 'bland' than a band. They sure aren't doing any special from what I can hear.

And here's a BIG 'wtf' that I noticed again this morning:

[cover=4629,4077]

A big turkey is more like it!

Not that it means much to me but did Shaka play a track at one of his dances?

Now just because I've thrown my corn, please don't call me foul/fowl ;-) I'm just giving a new meaning to 'trash 'n ready'...
