Well, Sly & Robbie were able to tour big time and record a crapload of tunes. One of the Wailers told me they did not find a way to work as a team and that money splitting evenly was ALWAYS an issue...Congo Bunny wrote:they just kept touring and doing Bob tributes?

Re: donald & lulu & the wailers
Hi there,
Lulu was my mother and I thought I'd drop a little info on the LP. You're all correct about the date but it was recorded much earlier. The reason the album is rare is because the producer and record label literally ripped all of the musicians off in the production. None of the funds accuired for the album went to the band and nowadays it's safe to say that if you're downloading it, you aren't ripping the artists off (both Donald and my mother passed away not that long ago).
Have a look at https://www.4shared.com/rar/MQXH3g4C/do ... lers_.html but your milage may varry. If you'd like an mp3 version of this album, feel free to contact me as I have no issues with distributing it freely.
Cheers!

Some people has got some racial problems with reggae music.Congo Bunny wrote: No offence to Lulu but I just don't think white woman's vocals really work on a reggae song, she sounds more like a female singer with the velvet underground than a reggae singer
Sinéad O'Connor made a really good reggae album in 2005 ("Throw Down Your Arms").
Faybiene Miranda ("Destiny" and "Prophecy") was not a black woman(Father => white and mother => Panama) but she made two classic tunes.
