I'm looking for the name of the song & artist to the chorus "the boys and girls are going to the movies".

Hey u gave me goosepimples.Iwas looking 4 the same song when i came upon yo letter.Has same song on a cassette also about 20 yrs back.the version had a dub extension.wiickedest tune.who was singing'mamma want ah bite and pickney want ah bite/Natty work hard on the worksite"thot the dj was going "dis ya drunken master style....make yo face full ah plaster.."Or something.will we ever find that song.help i'm in Zimbabwe

The songs you are after can be found on a 12" disco 45", and also re-relased by VP a few years back on "Joe Gibbs 12" Reggae Discomix Showcase Volume 1".

Michael Black - Natty Contractor & Ranking Joe - Drunken Master

Joe's "Drunken Master" was also released on a 7" pressed on Gibb's label in Miami.

I believe Toots and the Maytals did the original "pomps and pride",then Barrington Levy alongside Lord Sassa Frasss "..... come down off yo pomps and pride ...me nah cater fi the bwy weh get rich and go switch..." Something like that

Yes, Barrington Levy's "Step Up In Life", produced by Sassafrass. Tuff tune, it really didn't receive proper distribution back in the day but it always got a crowd reaction.
