I notice MellowMan says these were sourced from the master tapes, I guess the fact my question about the Keith Hudson source was never answered confirms it was dubbed from vinyl.
That Vivian Weathers album has some good tunes on it, would like to put that one out, but could be a risky one...
I must apologise for not replying to you regarding the Keith release. I haven't forgotten about it!!!
We didn't dub it from vinyl. But it was close to being that way. The masters were tough to find, the tapes as far as we know are gone / lost. We were lucky enough to uncover some discs and DATS that were originally taken from the tapes way back when and used these. Thankfully a contact helped me out as the copy I had dubbed from vinyl sounded pretty poor, so I was really glad to be able to put out a really good sounding album as the first release. But the nature of the game is the fact that sometimes vinyl has to used as a source of masters as the originals don't exist anymore. I'm sure we'll cross this river at some point...

can you tell us more, could we find this cd everywhere ? amazon, fnac etc ..
does it have a booklet ? lyrics ?
one thing is sure, that's a great news
You will be able to find it in record shops, Amazon, from our own mail order, so yeah it'll be easy to get.
Yes it will have a booklet, of course, with some nice sleeve notes by John Masouri and even a few pictures too. No lyrics though...

Thanks for the belated answer, if it's sourced from DAT transfers of the original masters then I'll buy a copy, no point if it was from vinyl as I can do that myself.

I think I mentioned this before, but what do you think about doing Junior Murvin's Badman Posse? It's a really good album, but it's never been reissued, which is surprising, considering that he's one of the 'main' (i.e. that people who don't really know reggae have probably heard of) reggae artists...

I did it for myself and it sounds wicked. Didnt have to use a lot of pop and hiss removal software, so the sound is close to a vynil in terms of warmth... Lovely album
