I'm afraid it's not a joke for the cover:

Has anyone put a bottle of Reggae Reggae Sauce on an album cover yet?
If not, it will happen.

Yep. With some random chick in a bikini on a beach holding the bottle...Congo Bunny wrote: It will be one of those cheap crap "best reggae" albums featuring chakka demus and pliers, ub40, simply red, apachie indian, shaggy, bitsy mclean, bennie man etc, you know the ones I mean

So what's wrong with the bottle of hot sauce? The music is spicy! I think it's a nice looking cover and a fine visual metaphor for the music - even if I don't think it's particularly spicy!Only problem is there is no original artwork. So Pressure Sounds had entirely free hands in doing something to reflect the music's character.
Kalcidis, I know you are a creative guy - if you were Pressure Sounds' designer, what artwork would you have chosen?
This is upsetting: http://www.upsetter.net

I'm not Kalcidis, but I think that a giant cartoon drum with Mick Jagger lips would've been the obvious choice here.Mick Sleeper wrote: Kalcidis, I know you are a creative guy - if you were Pressure Sounds' designer, what artwork would you have chosen?
I mean, you can't really go far wrong with that set-up...

It used to be about the music.....
I am just grateful that Pressure Sounds is making this available, this one has always been as rare as hen's teeth.
I don't care if mine comes in a paper bag.

To be honest I think if I had the same budget and time I would be able to put together a much nicer cover -- which really isn't saying anythingMick Sleeper wrote:Kalcidis, I know you are a creative guy - if you were Pressure Sounds' designer, what artwork would you have chosen?

Classic!
It still is about the music. Just that some of us feel that the visual presentation of it also plays a part. If you'd serve a dish nicely you'd enjoy it more than if it was plated sloppy because we also eat with our eyes. Same thing with music. A nicely designed sleeve adds to the music (for me at least) and a badly designed does the opposite.davek wrote:It used to be about the music.....
Something must have been wrong for people to react this way on it?
