Brian Silverman

Post by vlad »

Anyone knows what happened to lead guitarist Brian Silverman, who used to tour & record with Alber Griffiths 20 years ago? Trying to reach him.

Thanks Barb. I considered Brian a friend, despite having only spent a couple weeks with him, in Jamaica, visiting his then "colleague" Albert Griffith in his house, followed by a backstage entrance at Kingston's Sunsplash, all this back in summer 93. We rode a cab with Brian, his wife, and Horsemouth to get to the Sunsplash site. To me this was totally amazing. In those days reggae had been "abandonned", and only a few hundreds attended the show, and I convince the band to play "Fools Rush In" a great track from the album they had just released (The Storm). These early 90's album didn't sound that great, and Brian told me the main issue was the mixing which was rushed to save money. Brian was a great guy, and I think a very gifted lead guitarist. Life goes fast...RIP Brian.

He was gifted and will be missed. I am glad you got to spend what sounds like an amazing time with him.

I am honored to have played with and been a good friend of Brian's. He was dear man with a big heart, quick wit, fantastic intellect and a musical gift. We had a memorial party last Saturday in Ferndale, Michigan to celebrate and honor his life and send him off in the way he deserved. I will miss our conversations on fb, texting, around the fire, and our musical conversations. R.I.P. brother.

Brian always had many great stories, thanks for sharing yours vlad.

Brian & I were tight when we both lived in Buffalo, NY. I can't believe this. Anyone who knows any details about his passing please contact me in a private message.
