hey admins, can we do anything about the spambots posting meaningless threads about sweaters and handbags?

I don't really think that there's much else that they can do about spam, short of screening all posts in advance. It used to be a lot worse before registration was compulsory...

Well yes, sorry about the occasional spam. I do try to delete all spam that is posted. Lately however, I haven't been around the forum a lot because of personal reasons (we do still all have a 'life').
Of course I will delete all spam I see, but that's (for now) all I can do. ;)

A message to all spambots from the Roots Archives massive, none of us is ever going to buy any of your handbags, so why don't you just b***** off and leave us in peace!

By the way - is there any way to prevent the spammers using really long subject lines and screwing up the page formatting?
