Dubbing To Africa

Can someone please help me. I am after the vocal version of "Dubbing to Africa". The dub version appears on Phoenix Dub album by Linval Thompson. However, i was told it was originally sung by Anthony Johnson called "Africa". I have listened to "Africa" but it is different track. I know Anthony Johnson did another track "Africa we want to go" but I can't find on the web to listen. Does anyone know if "Africa we want to go" is the vocal version of the dub track? Can anyone send me a link for me to listen. Thanks

Thanks for your reply! The track "Africa" is the one that is different to the dub version on the Phoenix Dub album, that's why I need to listen to the "Africa we must go" track. Thanks again.

I listened to Africa from can't stop us now and the track from phoenix and they sound the same to me.....

My apologies Congo Bunny I just had a listen to the track from the album you linked me to and it is the same. The most strangest thing is when I listen to "Africa" by Anthony Johnson on you tube, its different. Maybe it's a different version on a different label. Have a listen and you see what I mean

just found out that the track is called "Africa we want to go" and after listened to the full track, there is another version of this track on greensleeves label and part of the lyrics goes something like this "come jah jah save the man, come jah jah save the man", "war, war all over"! Any ideas who sung this one??

Don't instantly recognise the other lryics. But since Linval Thompson seems to be the producer for the Anthony Johnson version it's possible he is for the other version too. Might be worth looking through some of his productions to try to see if you can find a likely candidate
