Are these two separate singers? Rising Son did songs like Forgive Them Jah and Peace Man, and Rising Sun did tune like Stop Cheating.
Do I have this right?
I believe the Rising Son is the one affiliated with the Freedom Sounds camp. If true, who was Rising Sun?

Re: Rising Sun vs. Rising Son?
Rising Sun was a five member group according to the Sound Off 12" label that »Stop Cheating« was on. Writing credit is of a Lloyd Montague who I can only guess also could have been the lead singer. Rising Son however is credited as L. Johnson.
If I would speculate a bit more I'd say that Rising Sun came from the east, probably Port Morant, but finally settled in the west somewhere like Grange Hill.

Oh you witty guy, Kal!
Okay then, thanks for this info. Didn't realize Rising Sun was a group, that's good info. How is that Sound Off 12"? I just learned of this tune Stop Cheating via the recent Negus Roots repress 7", wondering if the 12" segues into the dub nicely and is good as an extended tune.
And yeah, L Johnson for Rising Son is right, had forgotten that.
