Has anyone got (or ever seen) the original and very rare LP, as a matter of interest?

Yeah, I have. It's just a white label with no cover. It was only ever a test pressing and never a fully released album, so pretty unglamorous really.

The audio samples on amazon sound very nice. Wicked dub mixes with lots of percussions and horn.

First of all this appears to have been released as an MP3 by Hot Milk, so woo hoo I can start buying things off of Hot Milk bout time you got mp3s : )now if only digikiller would do mp3's then my life would be complete

Just doing an quick compare of Phoenix dub and Boss Man and as far as I can tell there is only one track on both and it is a different mix:

Africa in Dub is the same backing track as Dubbing To Africa different mix though

That said I don't have a musical bone in my body so its possible that I simply can't hear right, but they sound completely different to me. so hopefully that theory can be put to bed. The most obvious difference is the mixing , Phoenix is more dancehall dub and Boss Man is more Roots dub

I've always assumed Phoenix was mixed by Scientist

Does anyone know who mixed (who dubbed it up I mean) Boss Man, sounds like it was done at Tubbys

Just got the vinyl of Boss Man's Dub. I think there's only 500 copies.
Crisp and hard-hitting dubs. Great to have on vinyl.
An original white label went for £500 on Discogs 2 months ago.
