Tune ID (from Channel One?) - help needed

Post by mattp »

Can anyone tell me what this dub tune is, sounds like Channel One, maybe Mighty Diamonds... it's great & I got to get it!

Have spent hours listening to clips online & it's beginning to drive me crazy...

Heard it in this mix Deadbeat did for Boiler Room TV, it starts at 20 mins, but I also ripped a copy of the tune:

[Download it here](https://www.yousendit.com/download/WFJY ... TGlybHNUQw)

[Or check out the whole mix here](http://boilerroom.tv/deadbeat-45-min-mix/)

If anyone can help it'll be much appreciated :)

It's a dub of Larry Marshall's- Brand new baby. Not sure the name of the dub.

Sorry, I was talking about the first tune in the set, not the one at 20:00. Anyway, the dub for the Brand new baby is called Clash of steel. I know the other tune, but can't recall it.

Ok. One cut on that rhythm is Double Struggle by the musical intimidators.

Maybe this will get you closer...
From a review of Tappa Zukie's Escape from hell: The album comprises bonus dubs, all drawn from the same key period of 1976-79. Noteworthy are the super rare Double Struggle, across Gregory Isaac's great 'Love Light' rhythm, which Tappa picked up from Ossie Hibbert at Channel One.

Or the original rhythm:
Til I Kissed You: Nana McLean
Til I Kissed You Version: The New Establishment
Kissing Version: Big Joe & The New Establishment
Til I Kissed You & Version: Jimmy London
Til I Kiss You & Dub: Prophets (Gladiators)

I want to find the tune as well, obviously.

those are three different cuts..Studio One, Randy's & Yabby U.

you can add Delroy Jones -Kiss Me Version, to the Randy's cut (Jimmy London)
