looking for an reggae song

Post by robert brais »

Am retired, 78 yrs old living just north of Montréal and looking for a reggae song called “ Don’t.play with my saxophone “ or something that reads like that "Don't Touch My Saxophone". I remember this double meaning song back when I was in my 20’s.
Reason for my inquiring is that I have just received from a dear friend (psychoanalyst from Sao Paulo, Brasil) the replica of a 6 inches gold plated saxophone.
A real jewel indeed for which I’m so grateful.
By chance, would you be familiar with that song ? and where to obtain it.
So while Googling I found your site and am in the hope you can help me.
Would very much appreciate

It probably isn't reggae if it is 49+ years old. Maybe Jamaican ska or calypso.

hi, i was born in the '80s....while growing up in the early 90's i heard a reggae song which unfortunately i have no idea who sang it and i would love to find it now.... its basically a reggae song about the beatitudes in the bible (Matthew 5) - the singer says something like: "...Blessed are merciful for they shall obtain mercy.." and there's a chorused response which sounds like "blessings afresh" (i might b wrong bout wot exactly d chorus is buh, its kinda long time ago) and the singer goes on to reel out the rest then ends with: "Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see the father" etc...pls any clues? av searched far and wide but since i dont hav something concrete to search by, it feels like a wild goose chase....:(

The Beatitude by Slim Smith & The Uniques? it has been covered dozens of times in almost every decade.
