I saw some sad news on RMR just now. Apparently Joesph Hill died of a heart attack on tour in Europe within the last 1-2 days.
It's a sad day, he was one of the greats. His music will live on!

Re: Joseph Hill RIP
Hi,
Another very, very sad day for the reggae world.
He too was one of my favorite singers with a unique voice which made Culture one of the greatest harmony groups around.
He will be sorely missed.
RIP
Respect
Dave

Totally agree.
Saw them a couple of times and they were without a doubt the best gigs I ever went to. Absolutely awesome.

This is very sad news. Joseph Hill and Culture are true legends. I am happy to have seen them play while he was alive, and would have really enjoyed seeing them again. Such a great and unique vocalist with lyrics that exemplify roots reggae.

Re: Joseph Hill RIP
terrible news!! my heart goes out to fans and family.
RIP to this one of a kind very popular singer who always brought out the good vibes in Culture.
this is from a dicography site...
"It is with extreme sadness that I report the passing away of Joseph Hill the lead singer of the veteran reggae group Culture. Joseph suddenly took ill and passed away in Berlin Germany this morning while the group were in the middle of a European tour. Hill (born: January 22, 1949) enjoyed a lengthy career in reggae music and will be greatly missed by both fans and peers. The group plans to finish its current European tour and honor all other commitments with Joseph's son Kenyatta standing in on lead vocals as a tribute to his father. In coming days additional information will be posted on the following websites:
