Natty Dread A Weh She Want strange MP3 mix?

I went to download the album Natty Dread a Weh She Want by Horace Andy having heard the title track on Youtube and really loving it.

However when listening to the preview on both Itunes and Amazon I noticed the mix seems really strange. The bass is all in the left headphone and the vocals really low in the right. However the video I listened to on Youtube, see below, seemed to be well balanced.

Is it an alternate mix used on the Itunes and Amazon mp3 or some error? Or maybe it is just my ears!

I got this Trojan CD with the extra tracks and the mixing is fine and sound quality excellent.

There are two different mixes of it on the amazon version of the album

I can hear bass in both speakers on both mixes though when I listen to it, the shorter version is a better mix to my ears than the extended version

Thanks very much for the advise guys. I think I am blind as I did not see the second mix on the download site, the second version is a much better mix. However I think I will get the CD incase there are problems with the files online anyway.

Interestingly on a relisten to th clips I find the shorter mix better on speakers but the longer version better on headphones. I will check again when I get the CD.

LOL I only have headphones but I preferred the shorter one this morning. When you get two mixes so close it can be a nightmare deciding which one is better, it can change depending on your mood in any given day

However I think I will get the CD incase there are problems with the files online anyway.

Not a bad idea, I got the MP3 and the tracks had all be cut wrong (I guess the mp3 is a rip from an LP) as the start of each track was on the end of the previous track. Not really much of a problem if you are listening to the whole album in order, but if you are listening to individual songs it sucks

Come to think of it sorry I didn't mention that earlier might have been a useful tip to provide, it didn't occur to me at the time

No problem at all, I have blogspoted a copy just to check and it seems fine, it is the one with bonus tracks so now I will see if I can find the CD. It looks frighteningly expensive now though!
