I agree with Kalcidis,

I have the "Ranking Dread in Dub" on Silver Kamel label and I to think it is excellent.

I think the Roots Radic / Scientist side is slightly better than the Sly & Robbie / King Tubby side.

Excellent cover art too and contains a bit of info on what assumably happened to the man himself (although that appears to be disputed).

Ron,

If this album is the worst in your collection, let us know what some of the better ones are, they must be well worth investigating. (Please post some on Best Dub Album Thread)

The Ranking Dread album was the first to pop into mind.
I think the Wackie rhythms on that album are the worst anyway, I can't really recall the other tracks and right now, I'm not bothered to listen to the album :-)
Specially the intro's on the Wackie tunes are the worst. They are way off-key!!
I will post some of my best/worse dub-albums later on.

Thought I'd give it a listen.

Born Dub and Jah Dub have really bad intro's.
Rhythms are wicked, but the organ don't go with the bass-line. Dreadful !
The rest of the album is pretty good, I like the Ranking Dread intro's.

Hi Ron,

I agree, the first track "Bom Dub" is the worst on the album, not sure what sound they were trying to achieve but it is somewhat monotonous. I`m not even sure that it as an organ being played, sounds like some early digital electronic device that Prince (sorry king) Jammy inherited.

Track 5 "Jah Dub" only uses it in the intro, so its not all bad. Think "No More Waiting" is the best Sly & Robbie track (Ron, do you know the vocal to that track ?)

Like I said, definately the best side is the Roots Radics side and worth ownng for their 5 tracks.

Respect

What about 'Gamblers Choice" by Sly & Robby?

Pretty boring I thought or am I missing something?!
