Dubplates From Good Old Days

Post by swaby974 »

I think it's interesting to mention some dubplates from youtube (wich have never been released) on one topic.

Alton Ellis : [Tell Me](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MxjK6nkVwFU) (Vocal cut from an unreleased album recorded in Channel One)

Heptones : [Deceivers](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=cTRKWi3rSu8)

Augustus Pablo :[Rock to Sleep](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=P8drUkJHiDk)

Lee Perry :[Vibrate On](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=wJZbxwrcHZQ)

Ranking Dread : Humble Lion [1](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kNGn4v6U3ws) [2](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=JUjswJttKcg)

Dennis Brown :[Satan](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1RUhk7FBWwQ)

Family Man :[Smile Jamaica](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nvxzi13AH9c)

Awesome! Thanks for the links. That Dennis Brown and the Smile Jamaica Dub really are über-wicked (that's german/jamaican).

That *Vibrate Onn* dubplate is pretty awesome. I love the excessive amount of sound effects the tune has been put through. Reminds me of [this](https://soundcloud.com/who_dat/anthony- ... et-go-this) sound clip from an old Stereograph dance. The fun starts after the comment.

That vibrate on version doesn't sound "right" to me, it sounds like a modern remix or maybe even a modern 're recording. I'm I just imagining that, or was LSP 30 odd years ahead of everyone else?

One of the absolute best dubplates I've heard in my life. In my opinion up there with other dubplate classics such Kunta Kinte (PS 7"), Conquering Lion (DKR 7") and Rocks & Mountains (DKR 10").

Come in DKR and make this one happen as well. Rootsiest UK sound vibe ever.

Great topic.
Not sure if the Rock to sleep is actually Pablo. I think it's not him.

"water in the well" will be released eventually, keep putting it off...it's not a UK production, recorded & mixed at CH1, it's a Radics rhythm with other released cuts...

the Alton tune is a long story, might also come out eventually...

yea that one is a killer indeed

similar bassline to george nooks - be conscious

ofcours that one cant beat water in the well but i love that style!

there still some others to digg up like

black brothers - forward ina iwah
plenty cuts around but never released

definitely johnny clarke - dread natty congo http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9JHtz8t7Zg
the dubversion which never got released is a real masher

johnny clarke - stop them jah (but on the same steppers riddim as george nooks children of isreal which was never released either)

ofcourse all those dennis browns deliverance, black liberation etc with dubs ofcourse
