Do we really need to bump threads?

Post by kalcidis »

I know they get lost in the spam but since the moderator is clearing everything up on a continuous basis what we have left is a lot of threads with the last posts being bump-messages. At this point I don't know which threads actually have had new posts or if it's simply bumping it up.

Just a thought.

True then you make a personal selection for all the others. That isnt the sollution either. I wont Bump threads anymore. But Junior Murvin was an important one.

The reason I bumped threads was to get rid of the visible spam on the first page of Reggae Discussions . Not a very good advert for newcomers and new readers (tu) Sorry if it offended anyone :)

it's ok to bump threads every now and then, like in Siegi's case, or when you asked a question on here, no one replied and you would really want people to notice your thread once again. I do it and so do many others here.
And I can understand the bumping that happened last week, as I was absent most of the week.

However, most spam was deleted again yesterday, so there's no need to bump threads in ways I-Lion is doing recently, so please, if you read this ...

Do you know I actually thought bumping threads was making this forum a bit more useable since the owners don't give a crap about sorting out the problem

Forget it, I'll come back when this site is sorted out, so many people have offered help

When I came to this forum yesterday, it was the first time in months that the actual discussions appeared before the spam. I was so happy! And now the person who did this gets criticized for that?

I get it that the moderator doesn't have the time to delete threads EVERY day. So just give Congo Bunny the status he needs to delete the spam, he offered his help, he's here (almost) every day. It's this forum's last chance to survive.

Today proves the point, bumping threads worked, not bumping them only works if somebody actually deletes the spam regularly. I agree that it's strange that the person who was doing what he could by bumping threads gets told not to do it, maybe they want the forum to die.

I meant to say, there's no need to bump threads anymore, as all spam has been deleted again.
I didn't think it was such a bad idea in the first place, so no hard feelings.
