Hot Milk - The Upsetters

Post by AnorakTrev »

Just received my Hot Milk CD of " The Good , The Bad and The Upsetters - Jamaican Edition " this morning . This release has the blessing of Lee Perry , with liner notes by David Katz . A most welcome release I'm sure for the completist (tu) Sound quality is very good , considering the rarity of the original .

The last song finishes rather abruptly?

Hey all, cheers again for the support. Yes there will be digital, should be up now or next week and hopefully vinyl will come too, I'm working on that.

JJ, yes, I dropped a bollock when I heard this, gutted. Somewhere between the final master that was ok and the manufacturing, the last 2-3 seconds was cut off. If only I was in charge of every process in the chain everything would be fine!!! This error will be resolved on any re-press, vinyl and digital that comes out. It's a small imperfection, but one that for me is infuriating - fists waving!!!

Infuriating for you? What about us poor mugs that have forked out money for this product!

I would expect you'll be replacing the faulty copies free of charge?

Maybe a listen through the whole disc before it gets the green light for production would be in order?

Looking forward to your reply MellowMan.

Hey J, cheers for the reply man. No one is a poor mug, I would say that this was the case if there were problems all over the disc for sure, but I would say the missing 3 seconds doesn't make the entire product faulty and it shouldn't take away any enjoyment gained from the rest of the album. It's a right pisser all round. I check everything over and over again till it becomes bloody tedious (I put a lot of effort into my releases for no financial gain) and everything was fine on this one. Once I got my final copies when it was released and exported, this is when the mistake first came to light, so no amount of pre-checking would have changed this. As I said, if I did everything with my own hands this kind of thing wouldn't happen. I could have easily kept schtum and left it a mystery, but I aint like that, I like to keep everyone in the loop as I'm a fan just like you guys. Sorry dude, I guess I owe you a pint of blood, PM me if you want, I'm always up for a chat.

Ta.
