I have seen the original press for the the half price of approximately 50 Dollars. Bought my copy in the bay for such a price, too.I-Lion Tafari wrote:Guitar is a strong song with a tuff dub. I own an original copy for around 30 years . It still sounds fresh. Got a 2nd copy which sold for 100 U $ in the bay.
Big up DATC.

Guitar is my favorite track.I-Lion Tafari wrote:Guitar is a strong song with a tuff dub. I own an original copy for around 30 years . It still sounds fresh. Got a 2nd copy which sold for 100 U $ in the bay.

Very glad I only paid £4.60 for it on emusic, I can't imagine spending 50 to 100 on an LP

I don't think there's an need for FLAC/mp3 releases since it would be too much stuff out there (dubious compilations etc) that wouldn't really bring anything new to the table. The tangible formats are the way to go in my opinion.

Do we have any choice? It's part of the future, or not?

If R-A aims to be the most thorough discog of new and old releases then of course FLAC/mp3 has a point. But for me I come here to check original releases or releases on a tangible format and my personal focus is to see what has been released on vinyl (and CD some times but not as often).
I'm worried that if we have all the digital releases added that the other physical releases will disappear in the sheer amount of newer (and often very dubious) releases. Imagine how many iTunes/Amazon albums that are pure fraud that would have to be included to keep it stringent/consistent.

Agree @ bogus.
Aswell as vinyl and much more as CD there is also a lot of bogus.
Maybe we can make a kind of template with criteria for approvement of web releases so we can leave the re-re-re-re-re-re-re's etc behind.

The digital releases I would see as interesting in including are the ones that aren't available in other formats but are original vintage recordings (and not compilations of material already released). Can't say I know of too many like those though.

Think we are talking almost about the same.kalcidis wrote:The digital releases I would see as interesting in including are the ones that aren't available in other formats but are original recordings (and not compilations of material already released). Can't say I know of too many like those though.
