This is a great release to look forward. I will be buying this CD just for "Don't Know Who To Trust (No Shadows After Dark)" + Version.

Hopefully no missing seconds either for the fussy few ;) (Joke)

I already have it on Thompson Sound LP so it won't bother me if the CD has missing endings ;)

Barry Brown - The Thompson Sound 1979-82 - Hot Milk CD.
Track Listing:

1. PLEASE OFFICER
2. PLEASE OFFICER - VERSION
3. KETCH A FIRE
4. CAN'T STOP NATTY DREAD
5. IT ROUGH MY BROTHER
6. MOUNT ZION
7. FREE DREADLOCKS
8. DON'T MESS WITH NATTY DREAD
9. YOU DON'T KNOW WHO TO TRUST
10. YOU DON'T KNOW WHO TO TRUST- VERSION
11. LIFE IS SO FUNNY
12. LOVE JAH SO
13. LOVE JAH SO - VERSION
14. LOVE IS PURE

This is great news. But it seems like his killer tune from that era "Natty Dreadlocks nah run" (the riddim is also known from two Scientist albums) is not on it. Why the fu%$ not? Will I ever have this track on CD?

Yah, I think that I'll buy that. Barry Brown is cool - and most of those song titles aren't familiar to me already.

(it's usually his Bunny Lee stuff that's anthologized everywhere, isn't it?)

"Natty Dreadlocks Nar Run" is on this great compilation which is not that hard to get.

[cover=2211]

I also have it on a V/A compilation as a 12" discomix but the title of the CD eludes me at the moment. Its on a label called Eastern Star Records. I`ll check title when i get home.

Whoa! How did I miss this? Thanks for the info, Rootsman. Found the CD and already added to shopping cart. Infos on the 12" would be great too.

There are a trio of tasty 12" singles due in the next 6 weeks, a couple of them are connected to World Record Store Day on 19th April.

1) The Breadwinners "Far As I Can See/Mr Landlord" (Horus Records)

www.horusrecords.co.uk

2) Gregory Isaacs "Mr Know It All" (Blood & Fire) - Record store day release

3) Trinity/Al Campbell/Wayne Wade/Dillinger/Junior Tamlin - Five Man Army (King Spinna) - Record store day release

For fans of the classic Black Ark Sound, The Breadwinners are highly recommended

Mark/Rootsman Wow that's a fantastic tracklist, shame it's not still available. Was Guiding Light originally released on 12" or is this an edited 7" ?
