Hmmm ... I've got that album on Celluloid and I can't find any song by the title Rain Roots. There is one called Raw Roots. Is that the one you're thinking of?

Rain roots is here www.roots-archives.com/release/2483 & here http://www.roots-archives.com/release/3145

seems as though the track changed names somewhere along the line as I also have it as raw roots and not rain roots in my collection

Just listening to it now (raw roots) and it's not a rhythm that I instantly recognise

*Rain Roots* is a title that got mixed up on the Culture Press release and is called either *No Justice For The Poor* or *Raw Roots*, depending on the 'Grass Roots' release you have.
At The Grass Roots Of Dub was released with mixed up a & b sides, so it is quite hard to tell which side is which. Or at least, I haven't figured it out yet myself. ;)

Well the Raw Roots on my LP is a heavier minor chord dub with a nice trombone on it. If that's the song to ID I'm sorry I don't know and can't help but it's not the Morwells song at least.

*Raw Roots* and *Justice For The Poor*

Again, depending on whether your release is properly labeled or not, here is one vocal version and a DJ cut to one of them:
