I've posed this question a few times to no avail:
Has anyone listened to Jamaican Recording's reissue of "Bunny Lee the Version Master Presents Creation of Dub"? Is the reissue faithful to the original LP or does it have added sound effects etc. as JR has been known to do?

Much thanks.

Re: Bunny Lee Creation of Dub
I've not heard it but generally I and others have found that the real bogus JA Recordings releases are the ones that say "unreleased versions" on the back cover. Others, like this one, just say "70's dub" and tend to be just straight reissues of the original. I don't know if that's true all the time and maybe you can't trust what they put on the label, but I have heard a few that have not been messed with, such as Tappa Zukie in Dub.
For what it's worth, based on that I'd guess this one is legit.

Re: Bunny Lee Creation of Dub
I would think it's a straight reissue. And for what it's worth almost all JR releases I've heard have been of very nice sound quality (rather likely directly from master) so I'm thinking that those dub sets they have released are often the best place to pick up the music on vinyl in good quality.
Had it been a reissue from Pressure Sounds or alike I'm sure people would have been drooling over it.

Thanks Flashman and Kalcidis-- yeah, I'm thinking it's safe to assume this should be a straight reissue (plus a couple added bonus tracks). I listened to the clips on EB's and it sounds pretty legit.
I also have been pleased with my copy of Tappa Zukie in Dub as well as Shalom Dub, both sound great and are really enjoyable dub sets.
I'll pick up a copy and set the record straight soon enough! Thanks again.

I own this. Can't say that I've got any complaints with it. Nice album - I play it fairly often...

Yep, confirmed. Got it in the mail and gave it a spin-- no extra gimmicks or weird over dubs etc. Just pure, straight-up dubs of some heavy Striker Lee riddims. Excellent sound quality as well. Tough set, run it back selecta!
