Irie! I'm Peruvian and love Dennis Brown's songs. Since I listened to Dennis Brown I'm really spellbound for his music. To me he is one of the best singers in the history of reggae. I'd like to know your opinions about D. Emanuel Brown.
What's your opinion about this video? Do you like?

Ha, ha. That guy. The voiceover narrator calls it the "cripple skank".
Anyway, the footage is from the Heartland Reggae documentary film:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Heartland-Regga ... and+reggae
There's footage of other performers from the same show on there too; Jacob Miller, U-Roy, Althea & Donna, 12-year-old Junior Tucker.
Apparently it was a festival held in 1977.

. I think the concerts were held at different sites There's other artists on it not mentioned above including Peter Tosh and Judy Mowatt. For me Jacob Miller's 'Tired fe lick weed' stole the show though.RasLeroy wrote:Ha, ha. That guy. The voiceover narrator calls it the "cripple skank".

D Brown was sensational, although some of his material was a bit weird. I remember buying The prophet Rides again on vinyl many years ago. I played side 1 and was disappointed to say the least, but side 2 was great.
My favourite D Brown songs are Blood City, Concrete Castle King and Malcolm X. His live at Montreux album is one of the best live albums I've ever heard.

Many thanks for your opinions! As for the video in live where he sing "whip them Jah Jah" I can say that it's a great performance of the prince of reggae. As for the concert of D. Brown at Montreux I think the same as RooticaLee. Something I've always liked of D. Brown is his sweet voice and his feeling to sing. That's why I leave you this link where you can hear D. Brown's sweet voice.
