Lots of vinyl surface noise with occasional pops. Something I just notice recently.
I also have the "Musical Bones" re-issue from Justice League on CD, and the above wasn't really an issue.
The only version of Blackboard Jungle I owned in the past was the Clocktower re-issue on Vinyl. Of course this sounded odd since it was mono. Didn't really ruin the experience, persay, but would love the intended experience. Sold this a while back.

Oh yeah, must add the the Trojan re-issues are mighty cheap out here (Dubstrumentals, Dub Triptych). About 15.00 (USD).

You can pick the Dub Triptych & Dubstumentals fairly cheap here in London under £10.00.
I was edging towards the Justice League re-issues due to the fact they had the original cover art.
However, if the surface noise was that bad, i`d rather opt for the Trojan re-issues.
Think i`ll try the Justice League issues and see what I reckon. I could always pick up the Trojans if needed.
