Greetings,
I have a question about "The Light of Sabba in Reggae" album.
I purchased the "Cedric Brooks & The Light of Sabba" album about a year ago, and was very impressed. Especially by the songs 'Free up Black Man' and 'Words of Wisdom'. The other instrumental tracks are very nice as well.
How does "The Light of Sabba in Reggae" album compare to the "Cedric Brooks & The Light of Sabba" album? Is there more/less vocals? More less/rootsy feeling? etc... Also, does anyone know where I could find that album?
Praises,
Jah Chicken

I assuming that you bought the re-release on the Honest Jons label.
This was a compilation.
The 3 LOS albums are:
From Mento To Reggae To Ska World
The Light Of Saba
The Light Of Saba In Reggae
In that order.
They are all very rare and would cost a fortune if found!

Thank you Chaz. I do indeed have the Honest Jons rerelease. Do you know if this compilation includes all the tracks listed on the Light of Sabba in Reggae album? Maybe just with different names? I would love to get my hands on those reggae tracks that are not included...

Hi Jah Chicken
Just bought The Light Of Saba album (Honest Jon's re-release) on the back of this thread. What an album! Absolutely brilliant.

On the Cedric note...how does the United Africa release compare to the Sabba collection?

United Africa is a gorgeous LP in my opinion - very much in the mood of the Saba LP's, 45's and 12. I'd put Rico's Man Fom Wareika in that cateogory as well.
This one will educate, inform and inspire - sounds fromt he Ethiopian empire.
