Sing the praises of the ebony and the ivory
If with a gun to my head I had to name the finest piano playing I ever heard then I would splutter about Augustus Pablo's 'Snowball and Pudding' (to be found on 'Aquarius Rock:The Hip Reggae World Of Herman Chin-Loy' released on Pressure Sounds) and Joe Gibbs/The Mighty Two's dub of Sylford Walker's 'Burn Babylon' (to be found as 'Burning Version' on Joe Gibbs & The Professionals 'No Bones For The Dogs (Dubs From The Mighty Two 1974 to 1979)' also released on Pressure Sounds. Though maybe not in that much detail. If the gun was pointing at your head...?

Excellent question! To me, "Chant To King Selassie" (Pablo) stands out as a great composition.

Thanks arize_rootsman and Papa Ahmz - I will seek out your recommendations - come on the rest of you, stir your fingers on that keyboard, don't just stare at that screen - hasn't anyone's playing of the keys just made that reggae so much sweeter and made you want to shout about it - do it.

'Snowball and Pudding' though was not played by Horace Swaby. Read the liner notes if you like
rougher yet

I love the piano on "Ghetto Skank" off of 'African Dub All-Mighty'!!!
Or as it appears on my LP sleeve..."Getto Shank"
By the way, has anyone noticed the really low mixed vocals on Side 1 of the mentioned Joe Gibbs album?
It is especially noticeable on Midnight Movie & Lime Key Rock.
