Classic " Dub Album " Sunday

Post by AnorakTrev »

Today , amongst others , I have been listening to Prince Hammer's " World War Dub Part 1 " ! Try track 5 " Churchill "for a heavy , bass driven groove . To be continued next Sunday ....

Great topic. My dub album of the day is one of those dub albums I keep coming back to on a regular basis. One of the best dub sets I own and was given it as a gift from a dear friend. It's a classic but still it seems quite neglected nowadays.

This morning on my turntable is "Forever Dub" by Gladstone Anderson. Talk about a neglected dub set!

Burning Spear "Living Dub" (1979) is absolutely majestic!
(dub companion to "Social Living"/"Marcus Children")

If you are talking about the original, then yes, but the re-release is for hunger.

Blackarkrock: Which one do you prefer? The Island pre or the JA Burning Music mix? I got the Island pre first and have always been biased towards that one for the aforementioned reason perhaps.

Yes, the original UK Pre Living Dub is the one!

The CD in my above link contains this original mix, although it runs too fast...
...and the Heartbeat CD has the later mix, which is not nearly as great.
