Entering the Dragon---Keith Hudson

How does this Hudson release stand up to "Pick a Dub" and his later "Playing it Cool and Keeping it Right?"

Trojan just re-issued it recently as a Trojan Fan Club only release. Supposedly comes with a pin-badge not to mention bonus cuts:

-----
Only ever issued in limited numbers and deleted soon after its original issue in 1974, 'Entering The Dragon' features a selection of highly sought-after Keith Hudson productions from the early seventies. While Hudson's own gravelly tones may be an acquired taste, his talents as a producer were second to none, with his work among the most sought-after on the collector's scene. Now after some 32 years after its initial release, 'Entering The Dragon' is finally available again and has been bolstered by 15 bonus tracks, making it both a fine stand-alone collection and the perfect companion set to the highly acclaimed 'Hudson Affair' collection from 2004. Exclusively to Trojanrecords.com, those ordering this Trojan Fan Club CD online will receive a free Trojan Fan Club badge.

You can't go wrong with many of those listed above. "Like I'm Dying" is one of my fav's...and over the same rhtyhm as that Horace Andy/Earl flute tune.

What's with 17 Bonus Tracks????????

I own this on CD.

It's a really strange album. Feels like he just slapped down reflections of wherever his head was at the time to tape - and stopped when he had enough songs for an LP and sent it to be pressed.

That's not a diss. It's really good, in an off-the-wall way.

Is 'B. Ragga' actually Hudson himself? Read somewhere that it was.

Don't know the bonus tracks, but the original album is a strong record not to be missed.
Of course, there may be other opinions - as always.
