Favorite Scratch LP:
Roast Fish, Collie Weed & Cornbread

Favorite Scratch Production:
George Faith - To Be A Lover

Comp:
Heart of the Ark :)

by the way, the track 4&20 dreadlocks is present on both hearth of the ark vol.1 and vol.2
Can anyone tell me if it is a different version on vol.2?

I think Volume 1 has the dub version and Volume 2 the vocal.

The last two posts had me looking out my copy of " Cutting Razor " - Heartbeat cd , which has " 4 & 20 Dreadlocks " in extended form . Apparently taken from a mastertape , ..." released .. for the first time in its extended mode as personally mixed by Scratch , who must have initially intended to issue it on a twelve-inch 'disco-mix' ... "

Not having heard it in a long while ... very nice !

I haven't read those liner notes on Cutting Razor, but to me it sounds very much like the Upsetter 7 inch. The dub is exactly the same.
So probably taken from the mastertape an made it sound like an extended mix.
I just pasted both vocal and dub together myself on my pc and got the same result.

Interesting .... Ron .
The liner notes continue .. "it is presented here as it appears on the mastertape , and has not been altered or edited by any kind of post-production trickery . "

Checked my CDs re 4 & 20 Dreadlocks:

Heart Of The Ark - dub version (3.00)
Heart Of The Ark Vol 2 - vocal version (3.36)
Cutting Razor - vocal & dub, seems to be the same mix(es) as above (6.55)

thanks for your precisions!

Another question, somewhat related. What you guys think of To Be A Lover LP? Why is it this album get so little praise? It's doesnt seem to be a fan favourite and is relatively unknown, i wonder why when it sounds so perfect (well to me atleast)

Well, we had to pick one only in this thread. My second choice would actually be To Be a Lover, with *So Fine* probably as my favorite on the album.
