Tune ID & a couple of oddities

I posted this on the B&F forum, but maybe get better luck here.

Can anyone ID this tune, I bought it on 45 sometime between 1973 & 1976, came on a blank black label

Also never heard of this anywhere - Jah Lloyd On the Move. Label is hand made & stuck on.

Also on my copy of African Dub Chapter 2 the second track on Side B is a different mix to all the released ones I've heard, was this on all the original JA pressings, or have I got an oddity? The other tracks seem to be the same mixes as other releases.

Hi ragnampiza.. I can't quite place the first tune but have a scratch of head and try.. The jah lloyd tune sounds more like jah whoosh to me..hopefully someone on here may have discog for lucky label.. I'm sure there is a us site that you can put matrix numbers in and it will give possible year / artist.. Again maybe someone will confirm .. Gonna have to rig my deck back up and try the joe Gibbs lp out.. Peace sir dickie

Although the voice sounds like Dennis Brown, I'd guess that the first one is Roman Stewart "Put Away Praises But Forward The Raises". Which was a blank pre in the 70s but I don't have the year. RKR has the matrix number as MC 000001.

Nice tune and sounds like a recut of the To Be Your Lover rhythm.

I can't help on the second one but it sounds very familiar. I'll keep thinking.

Excellent stuff! I was thinking it sounded like Jah Woosh myself, still can't identify it though, Roman Stewart for sure, any idea of studio/producer?

I don't think it ever made it past pre. The matrix number suggests to me that maybe he self produced it but couldn't afford to press it up and couldn't get anyone else to. Alternatively, if someone else produced it maybe they were hoping to start a label which never happened (well not with this record anyway).

The only other to get any detail would be if anyone recognises the rhythm cut and it appears on another release. That would often give a producer link. It definitely seeems like a recut of To Be Your Lover with some subtle changes and bridges woven in.

Love that second tune. I have no idea who it is, but I hear two voices instead of one. One actually has the same "whoaaa" as Mikey Dread, but I don't really think it's him.

The riddim is fat baby/s90 skank of Keith Hudson fame. Never heard this cut before. Nice.

Personally I think there's a Phill Pratt connection, as it sounds a lot like those Sun Shot (Black Ark) recordings.

I think you might have something there, I thought it sounded a bit early Black Ark, Bobby Kalphat on melodica probably.

The riddim is the original Keith Hudson take, to these ears. Not a Black Ark production, as it was founded yet back then.
