virgin front line confusion

Post by lester »

Kind of a frustrating question with plenty of releases using that iconic fist on the cover, but hopefully someone has the knowledge.

With the coming release of these "new" sets...

http://www.amazon.com/Front-Presents-Ro ... line+roots

http://www.amazon.com/Front-Line-Presen ... t+line+dub

...I was wondering if anyone knows if this three-disc set from 2009 (can't find a track list anywhere)

http://www.amazon.com/Front-Line-Reggae ... front+line

...is just a shortened version of this four-disc set from 2001

http://www.discogs.com/Various-The-Fron ... se/3373623

neither of which should be confused with this one ;}

Thanks for any help.

Thank you CB. LOL Now I'm wondering if there's maybe a six-cd set out there somewhere! More track lists to cross check....

Thank you DJ. I thought I'd checked discogs, but I obviously missed it. I appreciate your help.

LESTER :There is a new Virgin Front Line 5 CD box set due out later this year? ,that will feature unreleased tracks & 12" mixes & probably most tracks on the other sets you listed above.....so if you were thinking of buying some Front Line maybe wait until this 5 CD set is out?

cheers

Yes, I think that's good advice j j - thank you. Along with the new Roots and Dub sets, looks like there's a lot of stuff that's "new"/more available (at least to CD). Cheers!

Compiled by Laurence Cane-Honeysett.
At this budget price this collection is well worth buying for the 3x Twinkle 12"s alone!

cheers

I got the Roots one and the Dub one as MP3 downloads from Amazon at £1.29 each - unbelievable value really even if you're not a huge MP3 fan.
